Does anyone know where I can get instant yeast up here? I tried Safeway, Fred Meyer, and Ballard Market today with no luck.

That's a thought. You do know that Ballard Market is the same chain, though, right?

Maybe. I actually never went into Ballard Market, heh.

But, Central Market is HUGE! So if you haven't been there you should go anyway just to see it. I just remembered that Eli used to get all kinds of crazy things there for cooking, so I thought maybe it'd help.

We have had trouble finding instant yeast in Austin, too. So far the use of active dry yeast hasn't killed any recipe but I think one has to let it rise longer. Michelle knows more than I on that one.

HEB at Parmer and Burnet had it when we looked. That was several years ago, though. We're looking for one of the big one-pound bags, and I don't think active dry yeast comes like that. (If you do want the little packets, I think Rapid Rise is the same thing.)
